Mid-Michigan Area Cemetery Investigation

Recently, C.A.P. investigators, Doug and Karen, were taking photos during the day in area cemeteries for use on the website. During one excursion, Karen brought along her voice recorder and decided to let it run while Doug was taking photos. No questions were asked at this time and the session only lasted a little over 20 minutes. Later that evening when Karen was reviewing the recording, she was very surprised to hear several disembodied voices. One in particular was a woman who stated "that was too close". You can listen to that EVP on our evidence page. Two others were recorded, one of a woman saying "hmm" and the other being a strange vibration sound. This one could have been an insect near the recorder. Since this evidence was obtained during the day, Doug and Karen were completely aware of any people or vehicles in the area. C.A.P. is skeptical of night time investigations in cemeteries since there is no way of truly knowing if anyone else is there with you.

Since EVP evidence was obtained, Doug and Karen decided to go back the following weekend and do a more thorough EVP session. One voice recorder was left on a tombstone (in plain sight of the investigators) and Doug and Karen each had a voice recorder that they carried with them. Questions were asked during this session which lasted about an hour. During evidence review, a male voice was heard talking at the same time as Doug and Karen. Unfortunately, you can't understand what he is saying. An odd "growl" was also picked up on the recorder. The other EVP is of what sounds like a woman sobbing. You can listen to these on our evidence page. A few other EVPs were captured, but the sound quality is poor. Nothing was obtained on the stationary recorder.

Doug and Karen went back a third time to conduct another EVP session. Unfortunately, this day was extremely windy. One voice recorder was left on a tombstone and Doug and Karen each carried a recorder with them. This time they decided to separate and do separate EVP sessions. Karen's recorder picked up a woman saying something in an odd sing-song way. We couldn't determine what was being said. Another EVP happens when Doug asks if whoever is there would give a sign of their presence. You can hear a woman's voice say "not now". The last EVP sounds like a woman crying. You can listen to these on our evidence page. The stationary voice recorder picked up what sounds like a conversation between two people, possibly men. Unfortunately due to the windy conditions we were not able to make out what was being said. C.A.P. has determined this to be an on-going investigation and is looking forward to more EVP sessions in the near future.
